political targets. So some good news: The courts may dismantle a

California settlement that was a product of fraud by prosecutors.

The story began in 2007 with the :Moonlight Fire in California that

burned some 65,000 acres, about two-thirds on federal land. Within

48 hours and while the flames were still burning, the state's

department of forestry and fire protection, known as Cal Fire, and

the U.S. Forest Service blamed the disaster on Sierra Pacific, a

Redding-based company that owns some 1.2 million acres of

timberland.

Andy Furillo Sacramento Bee reporter assigned to the Sacramento County courts beat covers up or ignores family court controversies.

Andy Furillo is a veteran reporter for the Sacramento Bee. His assigned beat is Sacramento County courts. So why does he cover up or ignore the controversies and scandals in the family court system? Furillo relies on his access to sources inside the courthouses of Sacramento County. If he reports on court scandals, his access could end. He trades favorable coverage for access, a common problem with the mainstream media. Sacramento has one daily newspaper. The public has no choice but to get daily printed news from the Sacramento Bee. Furillo's unethical reporting practices are a disservice to the public, and discredits the Bee and its reporters and editors. Much of journalism "has been reduced to an access-trading game, where reporters are rewarded for favorable coverage of those in the know with more time and availability." The first sexual battery victim of Sacramento Family Court Temporary Judge Gary Appelblatt contacted the Sheriff's Department on Feb. 17, five years ago today. The then-prominentSacramento Bar Association Family Law Section attorney ultimately was charged with 13-criminal counts including sexual battery and penetration with a foreign object. The victims were Appelblatt's divorce clients and potential clients.
"[A]ppelblatt invited the clients into his American River Drive law office and drew the blinds. He shooed out any visitors and locked the door. Then, testimony showed, the 57-year-old divorce lawyer moved the women over for physical exams on what the judge described as the attorney's 'convenient couch.' Some had their tops removed, and he reached into the pants of some of the other women...[Deputy District Attorney Keith Hill] said the lawyer's perversions took advantage of weakened victims who sought his professional services at 'terrible emotional' times in their lives," Sacramento Bee reporter Andy Furillo wrote in 2008. 
In 2008 and 2009 the Bee published four stories about the Appelblatt case - three with the byline of Furillo - a veteran reporter on the courthouse beat. None of the stories disclosed that Appelblatt held the Office of Temporary Judge.

Divorce Lawyers May Not Follow the Law and Ethical Rules - BE PREPARED

The Corruption Capitol of family courts is Sacramento. California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye used to be a judge in Sacramento Family Court. She now runs the Supreme Court and covers up judge and attorney misconduct for her old cronies in Sacramento. 

Family law attorneys are well known for often being unethical. If you don't have a lawyer and your spouse does, you will be at a massive disadvantage. "When attorneys appear in court, under California law they are required to tell the complete truth whether or not they are under oath. Under California law, telling only part of the truth is considered the same as telling a lie, and withholding or concealing relevant information during a court hearing is the same as telling a lie. And is considered fraud upon the court, or fraud on the court. "False statement of fact," "explicit false statement" or "affirmative misrepresentation" are the legal, technical terms for what the general public refers to as a lie. 

When attorneys file papers in court, under California law they are required to to tell the complete truth whether or not the paperwork is filed under penalty of perjury. Under California law, telling only part of the truth in any court filing by an attorney is the same as telling a lie, and withholding, concealing, or omitting relevant information in court filings is the same as telling a lie. And is considered fraud on the court.

Under California law, most forms of deceit and dishonesty by an attorney are considered acts of moral turpitude. Under Business & Professions Code § 6106, the commission of any act of moral turpitude constitutes cause for disbarment or suspension from the practice of law. Click here to view this code section. Moral turpitude is defined by decisions of the California Supreme Court, decisions of the State Bar Court, and other authority. Judge Matthew Gary Disabled Family Court Victim Homeless but Surviving

Disabled Parent Now Homeless Due To Unlawful Order Issued by Judge Matthew Gary for Partner of Judge Pro Tem Attorney J. Scott Buchanan

Tani Cantil-Sakauye, Carol Corrigan, Joyce Kennard, Kathryn Werdegar,
Ming Chin, Marvin Baxter and Goodwin Liu of the California Supreme Court
are ultimately responsible for socioeconomic injustice in California courts,
including this disabled, homeless victim of Sacramento Family Court.

"The disturbing aftermath of an unconscionable $920 child support order issued by Judge Matthew J. Gary shows one of the ramifications, and the inexorable human cost of what court watchdogs contend is unchecked family court corruption and cronyism. The April, 2012 order gutted the monthly disability income of unrepresented, financially disadvantaged family court litigant Susan Ferris from $1,256 to $336. Gary had previously issued anequally unlawful order prohibiting the 52-year-old single mom from having any contact with her daughter, Megan. The April support order financially devastated Ferris, leaving her with far less income than she needed for food, utilities, and rent. After several months under the order and behind on her rent, Ferris was evicted from her East Sacramento home and became homeless. The same court order records that her ex-husband, David Ferris, earns $8,089 per month. Click here to view Gary's minute order, obtained and posted online exclusively bySacramento Family Court News. As a result of the order, Susan Ferris' credit has been thrashed, the repo man came for her car, and the eviction will now be part of her renter's report, making it virtually impossible for her to rent a home in the future.

Like orders issued by the same judge in other cases, both minute orders contain no facts or law justifying the draconian rulings, making them patently illegal under state law. The comparison to orders in other cases reveals a consistent pattern that infers a calculated and deliberate intent to conceal from review the judge's misuse of Family Code statutes for the prohibited purpose of punishing unrepresented parties. Gary, a fervent right-wing ideologue, also detests what he reportedly calls the "entitlement mentality" of family court parties who obtain fee waiver orders or are on public assistance, according to a court employee. The template-like repetition of the judge's bad faith tactics and overt socioeconomic bias also evinces an abdication of oversight responsibilities by Court Executive Officer Chris Volkers, superior court Presiding Judge Laurie Earl, and family court Supervising Judge James Mize."
